Questions and answers

The things people ask before they type in a number.

Short, honest answers. Anything missing? Write to hello@hevelly.com.

Is my data safe?
Your figures are stored in your browser, on your own device, and are never sent to us. The only requests that leave are for exchange rates and prices, built so they cannot reveal what you hold. If you choose to make a cloud backup, it is encrypted on your device with a passphrase we never see. The honest caveat: data in a browser is only as safe as the device it sits on, so use your device lock, and keep a backup.Privacy and security, in detail
Do you connect to my bank?
No, and we never will through the app. Hevelly has no bank, broker or exchange connections and never asks for those logins. You type your balances in. It takes seconds, and it is the reason your data can stay on your device.
What if I lose my phone?
Your data was on the phone, so it goes with it. Two things bring it back: a backup file you saved from Settings, or the encrypted cloud backup that comes with a free account. Restore either on the new device and you are where you left off. Without any backup, the data cannot be recovered, by you or by us.
Can I use it on two devices?
Yes, with a caveat. Each device keeps its own copy. A free account holds one cloud backup from one device at a time: restoring it on a second device is always allowed, but the second device cannot upload over it unless you move the backup there, which you can do once every 30 days. Continuous sync across devices is what Hevelly Plus is for.See the plans
What happens if I forget my backup passphrase?
The cloud backup cannot be read any more, by anyone. The passphrase never leaves your device, so there is nothing for us to reset; that is the whole point of end-to-end encryption. Your data on the device is untouched. Set a new passphrase and the next backup is made with it.
Is it financial advice?
No. Hevelly is arithmetic on numbers you entered: it adds things up, compares one close with the last, and divides your cash by what goes out a month. It never suggests what to buy, sell or hold, and nothing in it should be read as a recommendation. Not financial advice.
How do I install it on my phone?
Hevelly is a web app, so there is nothing to download from a store. On an iPhone or iPad, open app.hevelly.com in Safari, tap the Share button and choose "Add to Home Screen". On Android, open it in Chrome and choose "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" from the menu. On a computer, Chrome and Edge show an install icon in the address bar. Settings in the app has the steps for the browser you are using.Open the app
What does it cost?
The app is free, including a free account with one encrypted cloud backup. Hevelly Plus, coming soon, will be a small monthly subscription for continuous sync across devices and a history of your backups.Pricing
Can I get a refund on Hevelly Plus?
As a consumer in the EU you can withdraw within 14 days of buying Plus, no reason needed, and get your money back. If you asked at checkout for Plus to start right away, a proportional amount for the days you used is kept. After the 14 days there are no refunds for the current paid period: cancel any time and Plus runs to the end of it, then stops. Your latest backup stays as the free one.Refunds and cancellation
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Settings, then Account, then "Delete my account". It removes your encrypted backup and your profile from our servers, then the sign-in record. The data on your device stays until you erase it from Settings or clear the browser’s site data. No account at all? Then there is nothing of yours on our servers to delete.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once installed, Hevelly opens and works without a connection. Rates and prices are the ones from the last time it was online, and the app says how old they are.
Where are you based?
Hevelly is made by Hevelly Tech SL, a company in Spain. Write to hello@hevelly.com for anything, or privacy@hevelly.com for questions about your data.Legal notice
